Nice place. Inexpensive and good food.

Service and good great. Don't order off the combo menu. They weren't quite ready to make a martini but pulled thru ok. Will go back

When I review a restaurant I rarely use the phrase "the best" with that in mind this absolutely is the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Topeka. Always amazing food and service paired with big portions you can't go wrong. Highly recommend the tamales.

I ate here because of the reviews as being authentic Mexican. Having travel many times to Mexico I have a foneness for this style of cooking with the unique blend of spices and ingredients. Here I found the chicken in the dishes I tried as being very bland. The sauce could not make up for the lack of seasoning of the main ingredient. I fail to understand why Americans think rice is a mainstay side dish to a Mexican meal. I will not return.

This is a good Mexican restaurant in downtown Topeka. The service was fast, and the food hot and tasty. The building is kinda unique, and ads a level of atmosphere. I would recommend this place if you are looking for Mexican in Topeka.

My husband liked his meal. My 17 years old didn't like the chorizo and egg dinner. He didn't get the special for the day. I ate part of mine and it was okay, just not great. I had the special.

This was our first time eating at El Centenario. A friend who lives in Topeka said it was her favorite place so we decided to give it a whirl. We were impressed. Very authentic Mexican! They had a nice sized menu with something for everyone...most items were $8 or less. The food flavor and quality was very good. The house salsa is quite tasty. Our bill for 3 lunch meals and a tea was only $22. Would definitely eat here again!!

That menu you see at every local el restaurante. Big sweet drinks. Candy at the register. El Centenario offers one major point of difference, it's comfortable. Large groups, table for one, lunch rush, late night nosh; they accommodate all. There's room to enjoy your party without backing into servers, tables and other diners. Table for 10...boom. No eye roll. No frustrated cursing under everyone's breath. Chips and salsa appear, drink orders so fast they border on precognition. Rad service all around. Some really adventurous menu items would bump this straight to a 5. To be fair, I usually get the same thing every visit. Maybe I get a 4 start rating too 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Still my favorite Mexican food place in Topeka and I've tried most of them. Small but the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Best margaritas in town.

Amazing food and excellent service! Safe social distance and masks. Frozen drinks could have been more frozen. Sopapias were unlike anything I have ever had with chocolate and honey and whipped cream!! Can't wait to go back

Love this place! I'll have to take pictures soon but they seat you quickly even if they're busy, the food tastes authentic and is widely loved. The dessert is on point! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The vibe I get from here is authentic, tasty, goodness. Love it here! Highly recommend. Food comes out fast, goes in my stomach even faster!

We have been eating here for many years. The food is reasonably priced and very good. Their menu covers a broad range of Mexican cuisine. They do have daily specials. The staff is polite and the restaurant is clean and bright. They do have a vegetarian and children menu. Alcoholic beverages are also available to purchase. It is located in the old Lane's BBQ building.

This is a great little Mexican restaurant, as are all of the little restaurants in Topeka. In my humble opinion, El Centranario has THE best carnitas in this town! If you like delicious marinated shredded pork that is melt in your mouth tender? This is the spot to get it.

Love this place. Great food and great staff. Locally owned family restaurant. I'm giving it 5 stars as a general, very causal and laidback restaurant.
